THE GIANT SUITCASE
The Giant Suitcase is a 12ft wide * 7ft high wood construction aiming to symbolize a portal, or beacon if you will, transporting you wherever you want to be within the blink of a eye.
What portal ? What are you talking about?
We've all dreamt of being transported somewhere else. For some, just the idea of travel encourages dreamy walks into dimensions of endless possibilities, perhaps traveling between worlds or different universes, others, maybe, the reassurance of going home. Whatever your way, I’m sure we all contemplated building some kind of portal or beacon, a transportation device getting you to your destination with the blink of an eye. Introducing “The Giant Suitcase”; your ultimate beacon for travel. As you wander the playa, something that could be mistaken for an optical illusion appears as you in the horizon notice a giant open suitcase inviting you over. During the night, you'll be guided towards it by a big glowing, soft warm light rising from within. Climb inside or sit at the suitcase rim, for a second let go. Let the Suitcase move you away from the now to where you feel like being (or perhaps already are?) Write your journey on the chalkboard inside the suitcase, or, if you prefer, carry your experience with you, while visiting The Giant Suitcase, nothing is impossible.

We seek to bring people together to explore the universe and the nature of travel and reality by expressing multitudes in singularity via a giant suitcase, the aim is to challenge our own norms, unique beliefs and perhaps, create something new.

The Philosophy Behind The Piece:
What is reality? Is it right where we are, or somewhere else? What if we could transport ourselves in a instant just to be back where we started a second later? Could multiple realities exists, or do they already? What would such journey look like? Where would we go and who would we become if we could?
The Citizens of Black Rock City come from all over the world, creating many astounding camps and villages, which consist of equally as many philosophies and views of what is. The idea with The Giant Suitcase is to form a communal space where we can all come together and explore the many unique, discordant journeys we all have as a group, with the intent of forming something new, or in the very least, challenge our own set of ideas and notions of reality.

We are a bunch of artists, designers, engineers, and general riff raff who loves creating stuff. Most of us lives in San Francisco but comes from all over
Lead Artist: Susanna
The Suitcase (Or rapid transit?) dreamer. She plays as well with numbers as with colors. Susanna traveled from Sweden through New York and ended up in San Francisco. “Working on a project with the aim to contribute to such fantastic community that inspires me every day to be a better person is just great, I hope the suitcase will bring as much joy to others as it does to me”
So where can i see it ?
We plan on bringing the suitcase to Black Rock City, specifically during Burning Man, a yearly gathering held in Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA.
